Where Summer Meets Fall

Acoustic Guitar Instrumental

The song “Where Summer Meets Fall” is an uplifting instrumental for solo acoustic guitar. The idea of the song is less about the time when summer and fall come together, and more about a place. September in Northeast Ohio is one of the most beautiful times of the year with warm days, cool nights, longer afternoon shadows and a tinge of autumn color in the leaves. It’s an exciting time as the harvest draws near and fall school and sports begin. The song is written in the key of C major and the tuning is CGDACE which gives the piece a wide sonic range.

The song starts off slowly with fingerpicked chords and then builds into a moving processional with a triplet pattern. The climax near the end incorporates A flat major and gives a sense of wonder. It gently descends then into a repeat of the opening chords.

Where Summer Meets Fall is a perfect song for a wedding processional. In fact, my son and his fiancé will be using the track for their wedding processional on September 3rd, 2022 – an outdoor wedding which will perfectly fit the piece.

The song is performed on a Taylor 914ce.
